I don't consider myself to be a prude by any stretch of the imagination and I also think that sometimes health and safety measures that are put in place can be considered overkill but we have ratings on films and games but allow people to watch soft porn in the form of music videos without any complaints. Today at 3.30pm (just in time for the school run) our local radio station were playing this song. And we wonder why our young girls are anorexic, getting themselves pregnant or at the very least being treated for STIs.  Common sense people please. Three weeks to go until the end of term. In that time I have two assignments to complete and two weeks of school placement so it's going to be a little hectic. I shouldn't have to do too much teaching this time as I am only there for two weeks and I'm really looking forward to learning about the other sides to teaching like marking, statistics and meetings. I imagine that is the worst part for most but I love getting things organised and problem solving. I have a pretty good weekend in store too. My fella is coming round later tonight and we are going to chill on the sofa with a bottle of wine and a film (or X-Files). Tomorrow I actually have no plans so we can do something on the spur of the moment. Maybe a walk and a film. I quite fancy watching Attack the Block as it has Nick Frost in it although no Simon Pegg so I will have to wait and see whether I enjoy it as much. If you like scary films by the way you should definitely watch Insidious. It's jumpy which I love....

Today I have definitely been the mad woman in the attic in more ways than one. A bird managed to find its way in there and was flitting about. It must have been terrified. A long pole, a large blanket, a large scrunched up piece of paper and some very scary moments and the bird is now safely outside and will not be getting back in. Poor thing. This is me trying to write my next assignment based on the Romantic poets, nature and theories of the sublime. On top of that, I have another in a couple of weeks on Victorian writing. Trying to read while you have a bird flying about above you is not easy let me tell you. I find much of English literature to be contradictory. Romanticism for example is said to be linked with nature and childhood and that overwhelming sense of magnitude. What are we basing this on? A selection of poems from a group of poets handpicked by those in power. Has anyone thought to look elsewhere? I'm sure they have but I am unable to find much evidence of this. ...

What a miserable day, weather wise. I have been blown all over the place. Just the kind of day you don't want to get up early and walk along the promenade to go to work. :( You find out who your real friends are at the times when you most need them. They are the ones who don't run away no matter what you have done but stay and face the storms with you. They may not always agree with you but they will stand with you and fight to the death. A bit of a tangent from the weather statement but after recent events amongst my friends I felt the need to vent. The people my friend chose to confide in have distanced themselves and done nothing but talk about the rights and wrongs of it all instead of considering that their friend might just need a bit of support through a tough time. I guess that is one thing that has changed about me. Through having my own troubles I have really learned how to appreciate that other people also have things going on in their own lives and so although...

Today is a good day because everything has finally clicked into place. Another assignment has been handed in. I've had a good chat with someone and got lots off my chest and other people have managed to arrange plans so I don't have to. There is hope yet. I like things to be organised and recently have felt as though things are spinning out of control but I seem to be gaining some control back which is a nice feeling. On the way home from Uni today, I was able to appreciate the sudden downpour of rain and that lovely earthy smell you get when it has been dry for a while. Add to that the sudden rush of cool air it brought with it and I felt a perfect moment. Now I'm back home and my stomach is telling me it is well past tea time. I do find that people tend to frustrate me. Today it is the 'know it all' that has caused me some concern. When someone has declared something that is so personal to them and has taken so much to state it the last thing you should do is to correct a statistic that really has no significance. That one person suffers should be enough. Now I will get off my soap box. I think I have found the reason why I don't write my diary every day. Once you have said something there is no reason to repeat it. It is not as though something exciting happens every day. Except when you remember how lucky you are to have so many great family, friends and loved ones around you and you realise how special you are.

  I like to try and put things into perspective to stop the panic rising. Today that meant remembering that although I had 7 hours to complete my 2000 word assignment, that I only have a total of 5 to complete which doesn't sound so bad. Now that first assignment is over and I feel sooo much better. I decided to start this blog in the hope that it will get me back into the practice of writing and help to improve my vocab again as I feel I have lost many interesting words into the abyss of constantly being on the move. I do keep a diary but it has no day markers in - more of a journal really but I find that I don't keep up to date with it. As I am on here a lot of the time doing various bits of work I thought it prudent to continue my diary online. As  previously mentioned, I have a further 4 assignments due, one of them for Friday. A creative writing piece which I seem to be hopeless at. Another reason for the blog. I have a busy few weeks Uni wise and very few pennies but...
